11 “FIFA The Best” superstars: 4 stars Liverpool dream of usurpation by Ronaldo-Messi

Liverpool added four stars to the list of 11 nominees for the 2020 FIFA Best Award, along with two monuments, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

France Football, the organisers of the Ballon d’Or award, agreed to postpone the event in July out of fear for the occurrence of the Covid 19 pandemic. However this also does not preclude FIFA from hosting the ‘Best’ 2020 ceremony, which recognizes the best male and female player of the year.

Of note, in the list of 11 players nominated by the FIFA panel of experts for this year’s tournament, the Messi-Ronald pair is still present alongside four Liverpool stars, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara. Two PSG teammates, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, also have titles, the others Kevin de Bruyne, Robert Lewandowski and Sergio Ramos.

One of the most disappointing absences in this year’s race is the Midwayer Joshua Kimmich, who made a major contribution to the Champions League Championship last season in Bayern Munich.

Messi and Ronaldo are still on the list, but the influence of these two players was much smaller than in the previous era.

Lewandowski is the most famous name with 55 goals in 47 games last season

In addition to the male player award, FIFA has also launched nominations for the women’s player award, male goalie, female goaltender, men’s soccer coach, women’s soccer coach and the beautiful Puskas target. Marcelo Bielsa suddenly emerged alongside Hansi Flick, Jurgen Klopp, Julen Lopetegui and Zinedine Zidane in the men’s football coaching tournament.

Liverpool has one more participant on the selection list as goalie Alisson Becker in the 2020 Best Men’s Football Goalkeeper Award. Other titles include: Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Keylor Navas (PSG), Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid) and Ter Stegen (Barcelona).

On December 11, FIFA will release the shortlist of the three best male players. The FIFA awards ceremony will take place on the 17th of December.

Ronaldo, Messi was excluded from the nomination for the best player in the C1 Cup

The European Football Federation (UEFA) has formally named 12 players nominated for four awards: the best goalie, attacker, middleman and scorer of the 2019/20 Champions League.
